Beverley & District

Beverley & District are a Grade 4 Pipe Band made up of approximately 14 pipers and 10 drummers. The band has maintained steady growth over many years, resulting in a close knit family atmosphere.

The band doesn't adopt the fist banging approach to piping, but encourages inclusion, and team work.

The band has built up a regular list of bookings maintaining activity and steady focus for the members through out the year.

More recently, as the band has developed it has increased its work towards competitions, which requires a higher level of focus for those that want it.

Competitions allow the band to meet and integrate with like minded individuals, and provide another social outlet while generating greater levels of enthusiasm, and improving the standard of playing.

While recent years have only allowed attendance at the solos and trios, 2006 was the first year in many, where the band participated in at mini band and full band competitions after spending too long out of the competition scene!

During 2010, for a Full Band Competition or Parade, we aim field between 8 and 12 pipers, around five snare drummers, a bass, and two or three tenor drummers.
